Introducing the “Oasis Scarf Wrap”
Learn to create a ruching effect with Tunisian Crochet
Learn to make this soft, light, and pretty scarf. It can be easily made into a wrap by starting with more stitches. The ruching can also be oriented in the other direction by starting along the long edge of the scarf or wrap. This series teaches this same style in both Tunisian crochet and regular crochet, plus how to make a delicate “Crochet Rose Shawl Pin” for fastening your scarf into pretty styles.

I used about a skein of Baby Bee Baby Lou Lou Yarn in “Lilac” (259 yards) to make a 35” x 9” scarf. For longer scarf or larger wrap you’ll need more.

- Pattern is worked in alternating Panels: Flat and Ruched. You may begin or end on either type of panel.
- To begin on Ruched Panel, scroll down to “Starting Ruched Panel” and then proceed to “Flat Panel.” Then alternate between “Ruched Panel” and “Flat Panel” until you have desired size.
- To make larger size, simply make a longer starting chain. If starting with Flat Panel use an ODD number. If starting with a Ruched Panel start with an EVEN number of chains.
- Your stitch count on a Ruched Panel section will be [2x(starting chain count -2) +2] . In the below example that is [2x(25-2) + 2] = 48
